00:00:00 So last week, I told y'all that I wasn't, probably wasn't going to record another episode of money through ease in 2023. And here I am on my normal podcast recording day, sending you a message. And this message comes from my muse, and that could also be my subconscious. It probably is, actually. I definitely think it is. 00:00:24 And I just figured I'd share that message with you guys from my muse, my inner child, probably. And the message is, fuck off. 00:00:37 I am a creative person in that I enjoy creativity. And I am creative, like, I create things all the time. I like to play with creative materials. I have developed a daily kind of creative journaling practice in the month of December. In 2023. 00:01:00 I'm having a good time with that. I've already signed up for another challenge for January because I'm a crazy person. Although that one I'm just really going to do at my own pace. It's not necessarily going to be every day in January, but for December so far, I have been managing to keep up, for the most part, with doing a creative journaling page every day. And what that means is that I have a journal dedicated to a December or a daily entry every December. 00:01:27 But it's not a writing journal. It's really an anything journal. I glue down things that I cut out of magazines. I use paint. I use different sort of art supplies. 00:01:38 I cut things up. I glue shit down. That's really what that looks like on a daily basis in December. And then I put the date on it. I might write down something that happened that day just to signify that there was something going on or nothing going on. 00:01:55 And that's what I've been doing all December, when I sat down this morning to put down my December 17 journal entry, because I work kind of like one day in the past. So today, as I'm recording, this is December 18. I sat down this morning to do a page for the December 17 daily entry. And what came up was that I'm really fucking over it. I'm fucking over Christmas. 00:02:26 I'm fucking over the holidays. It's been a couple of years since I've really been in the holiday spirit. If you have been listening for a while, you probably know that some big stuff happened in my life in 2021. And since then, I have not given a single fuck about the holidays. My husband has been the one decorating, getting a tree, doing the Christmas shopping, literally for the past several years for family and friends. 00:02:54 And I've been doing the bare minimum, which is to get him a gift. Of course, because I love giving him gifts and he's really the only person that I was willing to shop for and think about and get a gift for. But this year, I felt totally different about the holidays. I really wanted to participate in the festivities and the cheer, and I still do. But now that we've come to one week of Christmas, you probably are sharing this kind of sentiment with me, even though this episode is going to come out after Christmas. 00:03:29 But maybe you share the same sentiment when we get down to the last week before Christmas. I am fucking over it. I'm done. I'm good. I don't want to play anymore. 00:03:41 And that was the message that I received from my muse for my creative journaling for yesterday's daily entry. Because I drew well, I painted a big old middle finger with some mistletoe hanging over it. 00:03:57 If you follow me on instagram, you probably saw that, and if you didn't, it shouldn't be too far back in my feed. You can go scroll. You'll see it. It stands out from the rest of my content on my feed. Anyways, that's just the vibe for today. 00:04:13 And I wasn't even going to record an episode. I was just going to let it go and start again fresh in the new year. But I figured I'd just come on and share that message with you all. If you need permission to tell the holidays to fuck off, if you need permission to tell family to fuck off, if you need permission to tell clients or customers to fuck off, I give you permission to say fuck off to all of those people. I give you permission to say fuck off to your work obligations. 00:04:46 You have my permission from my subconscious and from my muse to just say I'm done, I'm over it, and let it be that I am super done with this year. I'm ready for next year. But I am even more ready to take a break. I am taking the week of Christmas off entirely. I've talked about that a little bit on the podcast. 00:05:10 I believe that I am taking time off and I'm a business owner who prioritizes taking time off. And in fact, I sat down this past weekend and did some thinking about what next year is going to look like, and I decided to schedule some vacation time for myself. And then I also gave myself a personal day to use every month in 2024, where it's a day that I don't have any pre planned work, like I don't have payroll. So on that particular day, I wrote off that I am not working. I won't respond to emails. 00:05:44 I won't do client work. I won't do any business admin work or marketing. And I'm just going to take that day off to do whatever I want. It could be laying in bed, it could be going to get my hair done, going to get a massage or a pedicure. It could be sitting in front of the tv all day. 00:06:04 It could be taking myself out to lunch. It could be taking myself somewhere fun, just as a solo kind of date with just me. And I'm really looking forward to that. I am prioritizing telling everybody to fuck off in 2024. That's the vibes right now. 00:06:23 And I'm also in this mood because I just got back from going for some last minute kind of Christmas gift shopping. Actually, I went to a specific craft store because they were having a sale on their canvases. If you know, you know my craft girlies that are here for the canvas sales, please leave me a five star review of this podcast. Tap in. So I went there, and then I figured I'd might as well pick up a gift for my future sister in law while I was there because we still needed to kind of get her something. 00:06:54 And the traffic is absolute insanity already. And it was 230 on a Monday afternoon when everybody's apparently supposed to be working or in school, but I think the schools are out. But anyways, doesn't matter. I'm annoyed from the traffic, and my muse is annoyed that I keep asking her to come up with something creative every single day this month, and she's kind of over it. And that's okay. 00:07:21 And you know what? It is okay for me to sit down and ask for that creative flow to come and for that flow to tell me to fuck off. And then I paint a picture of a middle finger and give myself the bird. That is perfectly fine. I accept that. 00:07:36 I love that energy. Honestly. You all know that I'm a hater through and through. I love to hate. And if you know me at all, you know what I'm talking about. 00:07:46 So, essentially, that's where we're at for the end of 2023. And I want you to have permission to kind of let it go a little bit. Tell it to fuck off. Tell people to fuck off if you need to. I'm over the holidays and we've still got a week to go, so it is what it is. 00:08:06 Maybe I only got a little drop of holiday spirit back this year and it's already been used up. That seems to be the case. But I will come back in the new year in 2024, not in the first week of January, but the next week because just the way my schedule is lining up and with some travel that we're doing, I won't be able to record an episode and then on my normal schedule. So you'll see another episode of money through ease in 2024 starting the second week of January, and probably in that episode, I will share with you kind of my focus for 2024, what I am going to be releasing and coming out with and sharing with you all and what my intentions are, just like I did at the beginning of 2023. So at the beginning of this year, if you scroll back in the podcast feed far enough, you will see that I have an episode out about my intentions for 2023. 00:09:02 I didn't want to call it like business goals, but it was just more my focus or my folk eye of business stuff for 2023. I think I accomplished those things. I'll do the same thing for 2024. And I want to encourage you, if you're listening, to sit down and not write out business goals necessarily, but maybe some business vibes that you want to have next year. If you want to have the vibe of fuck off, then write that shit down. 00:09:30 Have that vibe. Do your thing, boo. We're all in business to make more money, to have more time, and to have the flexibility that we want and to do the shit that we want to do when we want to fucking do it. I'll let you know what my vibe is for 2024. But I have done some reflection on this year. 00:09:49 I have done some planning for next year. I've got so many amazing things that I want you to kind of take part in with me and be in community with me in and I'll take this last minute or so just to share with you that if you missed out on being a beta tester for mind the gap, my bookkeeping course that's going to help you go from employee to entrepreneur. If you missed out on being a beta tester. No, you didn't. If you're listening to this before December 31, 2023, you actually still have a chance to be a beta tester. 00:10:25 I held my year end virtual party fuck off 2023 last week, and you can get the replay for that. You can just pay the same registration fee that everybody else paid, and I will send you a link to the replay and you can also sign up for beta testing if it's still 2023. If it's 2024, sorry, beta testing is no longer available and you'll have to wait to hear about when mind the gap becomes available to the public for everybody to buy. So thanks for listening. Check the show notes if you want to get that replay of my urine virtual party. 00:11:02 If you want to be a beta tester, get on that immediately. If you're listening to this episode and it is still 2023, by golly, there's still time, but you got to go do it now. Okay? And then I want you to let me know in the comments of the post for this podcast or reply to any of the emails that I send out. If you're on my email list. 00:11:20 If you're not, get on it. Let me know what your 2024 vibe is going to be, and I really, really appreciate everybody listening to money through ease in 2023. It's been such a pleasure to come on every week and share stuff with you, share my business journey with you, share some expert insights from me and other folks, and we've got a lot of exciting shit coming in 2024. So I hope you'll stick around. Make sure you subscribe, make sure you leave this podcast a rating and a review. 00:11:49 Let me know what you think, and I can't wait to see you next year.
