And I have with me today my sales coach, Keli Lyn Jewell. Welcome Keli to the podcast. 00:01:21 Keli Lyn Jewel Ohh my gosh I am. 00:01:22 Regan Bashara OK. 00:01:24 Keli Lyn Jewel So excited to be here. 00:01:26 Regan Bashara I'm really excited having. 00:01:27 Keli Lyn Jewel I listen every week. 00:01:28 Regan Bashara You and like 8 of the people. 00:01:34 Keli Lyn Jewel I'm sure there are more than that, I'm sure. 00:01:36 Keli Lyn Jewel There are more. It's a great podcast. 00:01:38 Regan Bashara I think so. Thank you. That means a lot. Yeah. Y'all. I mean, you've actually been, like, on an episode before. So I took the recording that we did for your podcast. And I just released it in my feed. So if people have been listening for that long, or if they've heard that episode, nothing new here to see. But. 00:01:57 Keli Lyn Jewel Is that the one? 00:01:57 Regan Bashara Reason that I. 00:01:59 Keli Lyn Jewel Where we fix capitalism. 00:02:00 Regan Bashara Yeah, that's usually how it goes. 00:02:00 Yeah. 00:02:05 Regan Bashara We are two little pigeons that just wind up in that same hole together like. 00:02:10 Regan Bashara Let's talk about this. 00:02:14 Regan Bashara Yeah, I wanted to bring you on specifically at this point in time because you you are enrolling. 00:02:21 Regan Bashara People into the Selling U community slash mastermind and I want people to know about it because. 00:02:28 This. 00:02:29 Regan Bashara I feel that this has been an integral part of my success with growing my business in the first two years, which I'm not up to the two year market, but we're approaching that and so close and and yeah, I just want people to know about it and people know me like I'm the connector. 00:02:49 Regan Bashara And I'm always like going to be trying to solve your problems for you without your permission. Yeah, I'm just like, I know that a lot of people struggle with selling, marketing themselves, talking about their businesses. 00:03:04 Regan Bashara And I always hear people saying like. 00:03:08 Regan Bashara I need to convince somebody or I need to make them see that this is a valuable thing, and every time I hear this serious alarm bells are going off in my in my brain and I'm like. 00:03:21 Regan Bashara Can I share something with you stopped. 00:03:27 Regan Bashara Exactly. Yeah. So yeah. 00:03:28 Keli Lyn Jewel Oh my God. 00:03:30 Keli Lyn Jewel The idea that the idea that you would need to convince someone to purchase what you have available, whether that's an item or a service or whatever else just seems so absurd to me, because if I have to convince you that you need this thing. 00:03:46 Keli Lyn Jewel You probably don't ******* need it, and I would rather exclusively work with clients who already know that they need what I have to offer and. 00:03:56 Keli Lyn Jewel We're talking about how that works, how we're going to get to point A to point B on a sales call, what the details are, what it is that they actually want so that I can make sure what ioffer is a good fit for them and if not refer them elsewhere. I'm not here to convince you that you need or want what I have to offer. 00:04:16 Keli Lyn Jewel Because then you're gonna get in and you're gonna go. Ohh, what am? 00:04:22 Keli Lyn Jewel I doing here. 00:04:24 Keli Lyn Jewel And then the work's not gonna be good. The work like, you're not even gonna show up for it. Like it's just gonna be a terrible relationship. That's just all around a bad ******* plan. It's like with dating. If I have to convince you to like me, our relationship is going to be ****. Yeah. 00:04:39 Regan Bashara Yeah, it's it's been a long time since I. 00:04:42 Regan Bashara Dated so, but yeah, like if I. 00:04:47 Regan Bashara And I've always been the type of person that, like the only people that I've ever been in a relationship with intimately, is like the people who are gung ho about me. I can sniff them out immediately, whether or not they're, like, put picking up when I'm putting down, and if they're. 00:05:02 Regan Bashara Not. I'm just like, OK, bye. 00:05:03 Keli Lyn Jewel Right, exactly. Exactly. Let's make sure this is a. 00:05:06 Keli Lyn Jewel Great fit, that's. 00:05:07 Keli Lyn Jewel Don't. That's it. We don't have to. 00:05:09 Regan Bashara Waste each other's. 00:05:09 Keli Lyn Jewel Time like. It's fine, right? Right. And it's something that like. 00:05:14 Regan Bashara Yeah, yeah. 00:05:17 Keli Lyn Jewel It's the thing that people don't want to do is convince people. When people say that they don't like sales or they're afraid of sales, or they don't want to be salesy, what they mean is that they don't want to be manipulative. 00:05:28 Regan Bashara Yeah. 00:05:29 Keli Lyn Jewel And they think that sales is about manipulation, and that's just not the case. It's just not the case. 00:05:34 Regan Bashara MHM. 00:05:37 Regan Bashara Yeah, I had a pretty solid foundation for. 00:05:40 Regan Bashara For marketing, when I joined the Selling U community and I'm specifically in the mastermind element, which my followers know that, but there are two levels to that community that you offer. One is way more in depth than intense. So like if you're just like, I really need a lot of touch points. 00:06:01 Regan Bashara You need a lot of hands. Like I don't touching hands like there's no contact involved. If you don't want that, you know what I mean. Like if. 00:06:14 Regan Bashara You. 00:06:15 Regan Bashara Just want to be able to send a voice memo and be like alright, I need I'm. I'm dying. Need help? Then the mastermind element might be for you. But if you want kind of a system to work through or a process to work through or. 00:06:30 Regan Bashara A workbook or something where you can do this self discovery and dive deep on your own. You know you can join the community element, but I had a pretty solid. 00:06:41 Regan Bashara Marketing slash networking specifically like referral networking base. Whenever I came in and so I was like not new to. 00:06:52 Regan Bashara Some of this stuff, but the concept of selling was still like that. I don't know. Like I don't. 00:07:00 Regan Bashara I don't want to be the person that is like trying to convince somebody who's maybe consented, but is probably going to withdraw that at some point. And you know it just. Yeah. So when, yeah, that was kind of where I was at when I came in. And now I'm just like. 00:07:16 Regan Bashara Hey, you want my thing and it's a much nicer experience for me. Like, who cares if I actually sell the thing? I'm having a better experience, like in my body when I'm talking to people about my offers. And I think that is like, more important than all the other. 00:07:31 Keli Lyn Jewel Stuff well, and that's the thing too, that is. 00:07:36 Keli Lyn Jewel Making it so that you were just ******* killing it like the reason you are able to be so successful in your sales is because. 00:07:45 Keli Lyn Jewel I don't even ******* care if I sell it. I'm feeling better about this in my body. When you are showing up to connect with the person on the other side of the conversation, whether that is in a sales call or in like some sort of a group presentation, webinar, whatever. Or in your social media marketing slash sales which we can talk about the distinction there. 00:08:06 Keli Lyn Jewel But or e-mail or whatever when you're in a conversation and you're showing up to the other person as if they're another person. 00:08:14 Regan Bashara Yeah. 00:08:15 Keli Lyn Jewel And you're showing up to connect with them and not to push something on them to or like coming out of your own desperation or anything like that, you get to. 00:08:28 Keli Lyn Jewel Have amazing sales as a result of that, instead of feeling ******* terrible and getting weird and like saying words that you don't really mean and forgetting things halfway through and then like the whole time thinking, Oh my God, are they gonna buy? Are they gonna buy? Are they gonna buy? Are they gonna buy and not having any idea what they actually. 00:08:49 Regan Bashara You know like. 00:08:50 Keli Lyn Jewel It's just a different it's a different experience that makes. 00:08:55 Keli Lyn Jewel Make sales more pleasurable on both sides. 00:08:58 Regan Bashara Yeah. And you want your people to have a good experience the whole time they're interacting with? 00:09:03 Regan Bashara You of course like. 00:09:04 Regan Bashara If the sales process is weird and awkward, they're not gonna wind up inside your offer, interacting with you, feeling not awkward like it's gonna carry through so. 00:09:15 Regan Bashara It's probably just a good idea to relax and be natural and be yourself, which I do. And I I'm always the one making little jokey jokes. And I love to infuse humor into things, and I love to just be like, cussing. And, you know, and I think, like, me being relaxed and open gives them the permission to do the same like just. 00:09:35 Regan Bashara That interaction of not it's not a transaction, it's another human being. Like we could just talk. 00:09:41 Keli Lyn Jewel Right. Yeah. And that's the when you when you think of your client relationships as relationships and not as transactions that it just changes every. 00:09:52 Keli Lyn Jewel The thing and when you consider the people coming to your console calls or your sales presentations as clients as opposed to dollar signs? 00:10:02 Keli Lyn Jewel It changes everything. The one of the things that. 00:10:04 Regan Bashara Yeah. 00:10:07 Keli Lyn Jewel One of the things that I talk about is the difference between a customer and a client, and so I I want to specify that because I just said client relationships and customer relationships can be more transactional. That's walking into ******* target. Target doesn't know who I am. 00:10:25 Keli Lyn Jewel Don't give a ****. They're just like hearing some stuff you might need. You want some toilet paper? We got it, you know. 00:10:26 Yeah. 00:10:30 Keli Lyn Jewel But. 00:10:31 Keli Lyn Jewel I'm a client of my hair stylist. I'm a client of my massage therapist. They know me. 00:10:34 Regan Bashara Hmm. 00:10:39 Keli Lyn Jewel They know my story, whether it's. 00:10:42 Keli Lyn Jewel Hairstylist knowing whatever in depth therapeutic things happen, you know, or how my hair grows on. 00:10:49 Keli Lyn Jewel My head my. 00:10:50 Keli Lyn Jewel Message knowing my body and the story of my body, you know? So when you are developing relationships with your clients, that's not based on a transaction, it's based on trust. 00:11:02 Keli Lyn Jewel And that's what allows you to build solid foundations for sales. 00:11:09 Keli Lyn Jewel No, like and trust factor is pretty much the only reason people buy anything they know they like. They trust you, so without that it is transactional. It's a customer. It's a one time. Maybe they like it, maybe they don't. They're never going to tell you. But for a service, they're not going to show up for it. 00:11:14 Yeah. 00:11:26 Keli Lyn Jewel And then it's not going to go anywhere. 00:11:28 Regan Bashara Yeah. 00:11:29 Keli Lyn Jewel When you can build long term. 00:11:30 Regan Bashara And then. 00:11:32 Regan Bashara The the idea that people buy a feeling is true whether or not they're buying, accounting or bookkeeping services or QuickBooks Online subscription, or a sex toy, or like whatever it is that they're purchasing, they're giving you money so that they can feel a certain way. And. 00:11:52 Regan Bashara When you are trying to be manipulative, you're kind of like taking advantage of that, like their need to feel secure and safe. And like with, especially with my clients like they want to. 00:12:07 Regan Bashara Whoop, they wanna not feel like **** about their money and like, how do I? 00:12:12 Regan Bashara Do that as an. 00:12:13 Regan Bashara Accountant, you know, we just get their **** under control and get their stuff organized so that like. 00:12:19 Regan Bashara I helped them kind of not be afraid to look at it. It the numbers may not even change, but whether or not they feel like they can look at it and make a change is like part of the work that I do with them. So the people that are looking for that, you know, see me and I hope they. 00:12:39 Regan Bashara Like, see that that is an authentic thing that I want to give them and. 00:12:45 Regan Bashara Wanting to sell just for the sake of making a dollar. 00:12:48 Regan Bashara Or having a a client or growing my business or whatever feels like taking advantage of their need for security. Safety not being afraid. And I I see so much of like the find out what their pain points are. Why would you want to touch somebody? 00:13:08 Keli Lyn Jewel I'm not gonna poke your ******* bruise. What are you talking about? Talking about? Yeah. 00:13:15 Regan Bashara Like I should be probably aware of like where they struggle and like the things that are maybe a little bit painful or uncomfortable, but not in a way to like take advantage. 00:13:25 Regan Bashara Of it like. 00:13:27 Regan Bashara Yeah, just we're not. We're not doing any of that. And so approaching this approaching sales through this mindset changed a lot of stuff for me because I had always been educated on the power of like referral marketing, which is selling through somebody else who's not like a paid salesperson like your network being aware of what you do, that you're an expert. 00:13:49 Regan Bashara At it, and who your best client is, basically, and that's all fine and dandy, but you. 00:13:55 Regan Bashara Do need to learn how to sell yourself too, like there doesn't have to be that kind of like middle person who like is able to recommend somebody to you and so like. 00:14:09 Regan Bashara I don't know why it's talked this way. 00:14:12 Regan Bashara That like first you know, getting into your network. 00:14:16 Regan Bashara And getting referrals is like the first thing that's taught when it's like you should be. It should be the first person interaction that you're taught and then. 00:14:27 Regan Bashara Beyond that, the second person interaction we can cover that and like how to let somebody know who to be on the lookout for that could. 00:14:35 Regan Bashara Need your help. 00:14:36 Keli Lyn Jewel Yeah. Yeah, it there's, there's so many different sales strategies that exist, and of course. 00:14:42 Keli Lyn Jewel Coming from the world of direct sales for over a decade, I learned them all and most of them are ******* terrible. 00:14:50 Regan Bashara Yeah, but everybody has some experience with someone who is in multi level marketing direct sales. 00:14:58 Regan Bashara Hey, girl and you're. 00:14:59 Regan Bashara Like you want some **** in my yearbook that I don't appreciate. Sorry. 00:15:10 Keli Lyn Jewel Well, and she's like you. 00:15:10 Regan Bashara So yeah. 00:15:12 Keli Lyn Jewel Think of sales and you either think of the hey girl messages or you think of the ******* kiosk ******** at malls or whatever when somebody's trying to spray some **** on you and you're like I did not actually consent to that. 00:15:27 Keli Lyn Jewel Am I allergic? What are you doing or the 1970s? 00:15:32 Keli Lyn Jewel Like. 00:15:33 Keli Lyn Jewel Balding, mustachioed with a cigar hanging out of his mouth, kind of greasy man who's trying to sell you a used car that's going to break in two weeks. You know, like these are the options sales, and it just doesn't have to be any of that. It just doesn't. 00:15:45 Yeah. 00:15:52 Regan Bashara I'd rather not. Those are the options I'm going to leave the restaurant like. Don't want to do that. Like, exactly. No, thank you. Please. Yeah. Yeah. 00:16:02 Keli Lyn Jewel We talk about networking, though. One of the things that and I didn't come on your podcast with necessarily the intention of like pitching my. 00:16:11 Keli Lyn Jewel Service like pitching. Selling U that wasn't. Didn't know we were going to talk about that, but since you by the way, you did mention it, I want to highlight how interesting developing this community has been because a organic network has developed that I didn't set out. 00:16:16 Regan Bashara Oh. 00:16:31 Keli Lyn Jewel With the intention of creating, but like there's been so much sales happen inside of the group and referrals happen from inside of the group because of. 00:16:43 Keli Lyn Jewel The types of people we have in there like. 00:16:47 Keli Lyn Jewel It's not just one kind of entrepreneur. 00:16:51 Keli Lyn Jewel We've got all kinds of different people doing different things and there's not a lot of overlap, so there's a really. 00:16:59 Keli Lyn Jewel Interesting network that has developed that I'm kind of obsessed with. Yeah, like, Oh my gosh. Even though there is like a little bit of overlap on some of them, like sarai's. 00:17:06 Regan Bashara Even. 00:17:13 Regan Bashara Social media marketing and then Jamira, who was on the podcast when this comes out, it'll have been the week before the episode before Jamira like helps people with their marketing too. But through a human design and astrology lens even they yeah, the overlap exists, but it's still so unique and they are completely different people. 00:17:27 Keli Lyn Jewel It's different. 00:17:28 Keli Lyn Jewel Lens so. 00:17:35 Keli Lyn Jewel Both with amazing things to share and support their community with, and I've paid for both of their services. Like, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's so interesting. And I know that you've gotten some referral clients from there as well and. 00:17:42 Keli Lyn Jewel Yeah. 00:17:44 Regan Bashara It's religious. 00:17:50 Yes. 00:17:52 Keli Lyn Jewel Because. 00:17:53 Keli Lyn Jewel I never anticipated it. Some sometimes. 00:17:56 Keli Lyn Jewel When you go into a business or an offer or whatever with the genuine intent to do some cool **** and not just take people's money, amazing things happen that you would have never planned for. 00:18:12 Regan Bashara Ah. 00:18:12 Keli Lyn Jewel I've never planned. 00:18:13 Regan Bashara For totally and I my intention with joining the community was to learn how to sell and just by being present it was like. 00:18:24 Regan Bashara All of a sudden people were like ohh I need you and I'm like. 00:18:29 Keli Lyn Jewel Well, here's my opportunity to practice. Exactly. Yeah. Which is, which is another thing that's built into the Community, too, is an opportunity to actually ******* practice sales because. 00:18:38 Regan Bashara Hmm. 00:18:40 Keli Lyn Jewel If you're doing and and if you sell in different ways, this specifically won't apply. But it's also something you can opt out of. But if you do, consult calls. If you do sales presentations, if you do anything where you are in front of another person virtually, or live either way to sell. 00:19:00 Keli Lyn Jewel How often do you get an opportunity? 00:19:02 Keli Lyn Jewel To practice that. 00:19:03 Keli Lyn Jewel You can't do that in like out in the wild. In real life, that's not a thing. So we've built in a structure so that you have an opportunity to do that. That's not like role play because it is people actually purchasing. You know, it's like ohh, I do need a bookkeeper. You're right. 00:19:08 Regan Bashara Yeah. 00:19:20 Keli Lyn Jewel Can I please hire you? 00:19:24 Regan Bashara First of all, great job. Second of all where? 00:19:26 Regan Bashara Do I sign up? 00:19:29 Regan Bashara I can speak to this specifically this week. As of the time we're recording you, and I've talked about for my digital course possibly having specific consults for that. If people are like, OK, but what, you know, they read the whole sales. 00:19:43 Regan Bashara They just, like watch all. 00:19:44 Regan Bashara My videos and they're still like I don't. 00:19:46 Regan Bashara Know. 00:19:48 Regan Bashara OK, so the possibility exists that I might need to do console specifically for that. At some point I will do them, but. 00:19:56 Regan Bashara Once I was like, OK, maybe in the future that's something that I'll do. 00:20:01 Regan Bashara I was like, OK, now it's time to panic because I've never done this before and I don't want to end up on a sales call console with somebody who's interested in buying my thing. And I am like, freezing like a deer in headlights because my nervous system, like, I've never said these words out loud to somebody. one-on-one. I've never said the price out loud to somebody who is interested in buying. 00:20:22 Regan Bashara And it's almost like exposure therapy. And I reached out to several people in the group that I have already done. 00:20:30 Regan Bashara It's like the dance partner called, which is the practice that you get to do. I've done this call with them before, and so I just reached out to them again, and I was like, hey, I have a new thing that I'm going to be doing. I'd really appreciate, like, the opportunity to, like, practice my pitch really is what it is, and all of them were like, yeah, absolutely. And. 00:20:52 Regan Bashara OK, get it on the calendar so. 00:20:54 Regan Bashara Now I've got like five of those lined up for me to practice before I even intend to start taking consults for it. And like that just knowing. 00:21:04 Regan Bashara That I'll be. 00:21:04 Regan Bashara Able to practice already gives me like Peace of Mind and just like. 00:21:08 Regan Bashara Calms me down about like not having done that before. 00:21:13 Keli Lyn Jewel Yeah, and the possibility exists that some of them might sign up. They might not, because that's not. That's not even the purpose of this. The purpose is so that you can show up to the first consult you do with an actual person who approached you for this, who signed up for a real consult without losing your ******* mind about it. 00:21:32 Regan Bashara Yeah. 00:21:33 Keli Lyn Jewel That is there, there's just, there's just not an opportunity to do that. 00:21:38 Keli Lyn Jewel Yeah. So and I, I love that you reached out specifically and asked for that because you're you're paired with somebody every week. But yeah, just knowing that you have the support available to be able to reach out to other people, say once is not enough. I please need more. Thank you. 00:21:40 Regan Bashara Yeah. 00:21:59 Regan Bashara Yeah. And they were all like immediately, yes, like everybody in the community is so. 00:22:06 Regan Bashara What is the word just like? 00:22:08 Regan Bashara Sure, I'll help. I'd. I'd be happy to help. They're just like they know that their purpose in the community is not only for, like, getting coaching, learning how to sell, learning how to create a sustainable business, cause it's like. 00:22:22 Regan Bashara More than just selling, too, by the way. 00:22:25 Regan Bashara It everybody knows that they're there. 00:22:29 Regan Bashara With the purpose to support other people too. Like, it's not just about me, it's about everybody else and how I can like. 00:22:36 Regan Bashara Build my network by building them up too, and I think that's awesome. So yeah. 00:22:43 Keli Lyn Jewel I want to go back a second to when you said you already had a handle on marketing and networking, that selling was kind of like what do you? 00:22:53 Regan Bashara Mm-hmm. 00:22:55 Keli Lyn Jewel Because I distinctly remember, I want to say it. 00:22:58 Keli Lyn Jewel Might have been. 00:22:58 Regan Bashara You asked me immediately like the first call. It was like, alright, now tell me the difference between marketing and selling. 00:23:06 Regan Bashara We gotta know. 00:23:07 Regan Bashara Where our baseline? 00:23:08 Keli Lyn Jewel Is right, right and that's. 00:23:12 Keli Lyn Jewel So many people will show up on social media. They will do the work to develop an e-mail list and they'll talk about this is who I am. This is what I stand for. These are my values. This is what my business is about. This is what I do and never ask. 00:23:30 Keli Lyn Jewel Anyone to work with them? Yeah. 00:23:33 Keli Lyn Jewel Never point people to the button. Never tell people what they need to do to sign up. And if you don't have that step. 00:23:43 Keli Lyn Jewel A lot of times first. 00:23:44 Keli Lyn Jewel Of all people aren't even know you're selling anything. 00:23:47 Regan Bashara Yeah. 00:23:47 Keli Lyn Jewel And so. 00:23:48 Regan Bashara If you're doing that great, good for. 00:23:48 Oh. 00:23:50 Regan Bashara You. Yeah. Ohh. You want me to buy? Oh, OK, sure. Let me think about. 00:23:55 It. 00:23:56 Keli Lyn Jewel Right. I can buy. Like I can't tell you I can't. How many times I have seen somebody's working like. 00:23:56 Regan Bashara Different. 00:23:58 Regan Bashara Yeah. Oh, yeah. 00:24:01 Regan Bashara If you'd. 00:24:03 Regan Bashara To. 00:24:04 Keli Lyn Jewel Yeah. Well, but I can't tell you how many times I've seen somebody's marketing and been like, oh, that's really cool. I wonder where I get that. 00:24:12 Regan Bashara MHM. 00:24:13 Keli Lyn Jewel Maybe I can get it from you, but I don't know that because you didn't tell me. So I'm going to go look for it elsewhere. Because what you're telling me, I actually now, because you told it to me. Realize I could use that. But if I don't know that I could get it from you, I'm going to go find it on my own, and then I'm going to be from you. 00:24:32 Keli Lyn Jewel Because I didn't know you were. You were offering it. 00:24:35 Keli Lyn Jewel And that's it's such a crucial component that's so small that it's easily overlooked. 00:24:35 Yeah. 00:24:45 Keli Lyn Jewel And without it. 00:24:46 Keli Lyn Jewel Nobody knows you're selling anything. 00:24:48 Regan Bashara Yeah. 00:24:48 Keli Lyn Jewel Or that you have the opportunity to work with or that that they have the opportunity to work with you because the the possibility also exists that you're just ******* brilliant bookkeeper and you work for somebody else, or you're just a ******* brilliant bookkeeper and your books are full and there's no way I could work with you. 00:25:04 Regan Bashara Hmm. 00:25:06 Keli Lyn Jewel But if you tell me that I. 00:25:07 Keli Lyn Jewel Can. 00:25:08 Keli Lyn Jewel Well then I know. 00:25:10 Keli Lyn Jewel Yeah. Oh, that's cool. I would love to do that. Ohh, and I can do. 00:25:14 Keli Lyn Jewel That with her. 00:25:15 Keli Lyn Jewel It's a different vibe. 00:25:17 Regan Bashara I've had many people and there's reasons for this that don't necessarily have to do with me, but I've had people watch my videos or read an e-mail where I say. 00:25:29 Regan Bashara Get on a training with me by clicking this link. 00:25:32 Regan Bashara And then they get on a training they've already paid my paid me money, and they're like, so do you have the capacity to work with me? And I'm like. 00:25:43 Regan Bashara Do people just take other people's money like not? 00:25:48 Keli Lyn Jewel I know, I know. And it's, I mean. 00:25:52 Keli Lyn Jewel There's there. There's so many sociological reasons why we are afraid to ask for what we want. Right? But. 00:25:59 Keli Lyn Jewel If someone is insecure about what problem you're solving. 00:26:08 Keli Lyn Jewel And they also have insecurities about being worth solving problems for and being worth investing in themselves or investing in their business or whatever. They're not going to just assume that you are available to them. They're going to have all kinds of. 00:26:24 Keli Lyn Jewel Doubts come up. 00:26:25 Keli Lyn Jewel And so you really do have to explicitly say. 00:26:29 Keli Lyn Jewel This is available, and here's how you get. 00:26:32 Keli Lyn Jewel People aren't going to ask unless you tell them. 00:26:35 Keli Lyn Jewel That it's available. 00:26:35 Regan Bashara Yeah. 00:26:36 Regan Bashara And even then, they're going to question it as you just laid out, which it makes me laugh every single time that, like, someone pays to be on a console, someone pays to book a training someone is like, I want to hire you to do my bookkeeping. 00:26:44 Keli Lyn Jewel Yeah. 00:26:53 Regan Bashara You have capacity, right? I'm like, I just. I would not be sitting here talking to you if I. 00:26:58 Regan Bashara I would have told you up front like you know, I'm actually not accepting for bookkeeping, which those are not. I'm just saying this, everybody, I'm still accepting bookkeeping clients. 00:27:13 Regan Bashara I would say that up front that like. 00:27:16 Regan Bashara You know, this is how you can work with me. But like my books are closed for this right now or whatever. And I think we've talked about this before, like on a coaching call, I believe that it's like if. 00:27:28 Regan Bashara People, if you're, if you hear what Keli says a minute ago about people are not going to ask for what they want, whether or not they even believe that you are offering that thing, they're just they're not going to ask. You have to tell them what to do. Even if you hear her say that and you're, like. But I do have people messaging me and asking me. Those are the people. 00:27:48 Regan Bashara That's like 2% of people. The other 98% of people. 00:27:53 Regan Bashara Do not ask so just because you see certain people asking. It's not proof that everybody who wants it will ask for it. There are way more people that are just not going to. 00:28:06 Regan Bashara Inquirer. So you have to be like, and you have to tell people what to do ioffer this thing. 00:28:14 Regan Bashara Go click this link to work with me and do that thing. 00:28:17 Keli Lyn Jewel Well, and if your. 00:28:19 Keli Lyn Jewel If you're using the outliers to determine what is standard, first of all, you're always gonna **** yourself. But essentially what you're doing when you're not telling people how to work with you is expecting them to have more confidence in your offer than you. 00:28:22 Yeah. 00:28:39 Keli Lyn Jewel What? What? 00:28:41 Regan Bashara That's not how that works. 00:28:42 Keli Lyn Jewel That's how. That's how that works. 00:28:45 Keli Lyn Jewel No, the general public cannot be. 00:28:46 Keli Lyn Jewel In charge of your business. 00:28:48 Keli Lyn Jewel You have to take control of. 00:28:49 Keli Lyn Jewel That what? What do you mean? 00:28:56 Regan Bashara Damn it, I started a business to be in control of what I do and how I work and when. And then. Ohh gosh, I'm just going to sit here and wait for somebody to come along and hire me, which is what I was doing. Like, raise your hand. That was me in the very beginning. Hiding. 00:29:12 Keli Lyn Jewel Of course. 00:29:16 Regan Bashara Waiting for people to come to me and now it's completely flipped on the other. 00:29:20 There. 00:29:21 Regan Bashara In the other direction for me like. 00:29:23 Regan Bashara I have to let. 00:29:24 Regan Bashara Here's the thought that I practice if anybody wants. 00:29:27 Regan Bashara To part, you're welcome to if? 00:29:30 Regan Bashara There are people out there who want to work with me that don't know about me yet that is true. And so, like, I gotta show up in front of their ******* face. Please. Algorithm Gods put me in front of them. 00:29:35 Yeah. 00:29:43 Keli Lyn Jewel I gotta let them know that. 00:29:44 Regan Bashara I can help them. They're. 00:29:47 Regan Bashara Struggling QuickBooks Online makes them feel like a *******. 00:29:50 Regan Bashara Idiot, I can help you. Hi, it's me. 00:29:54 Regan Bashara Hire me like that is where I'm at now. And so the thought is there are people out there who need my help. 00:30:00 Regan Bashara So I just gotta get. 00:30:01 Regan Bashara In front of them, I just gotta. 00:30:03 Regan Bashara Like let them know I. 00:30:04 Regan Bashara Exist. 00:30:05 Regan Bashara And how they can? 00:30:06 Regan Bashara Work with me so they can click the button. 00:30:08 Regan Bashara And that's it. Like that's my. 00:30:10 Keli Lyn Jewel Job well and there. There's so much that goes into determining how and where to do that too. Like you have found. 00:30:18 Keli Lyn Jewel Incredible results on tick. 00:30:20 Look. 00:30:21 Keli Lyn Jewel And that's not necessarily going to be universal for everybody, but like part of the things that part of the things words, some of the things, part of the stuff I don't know, part of what we do, how about if I phrase it that way, part of what we do inside of Selling U is really determined, like, who is your ideal client, not with a ******** avatar? Because ****. 00:30:41 Keli Lyn Jewel All of that, but like, who is your ideal client? Where are they? How can you show up there where they already are instead of trying to siphon them over to the place that you think you should be like? 00:30:45 Regan Bashara Mm-hmm. 00:30:57 Keli Lyn Jewel Yeah. 00:30:59 Keli Lyn Jewel TikTok. 00:31:00 Keli Lyn Jewel Using. 00:31:01 Keli Lyn Jewel Not amazing for everybody. For some people, social media itself is not going to be the most fantastic answer. For some people, it's going to be more like in. 00:31:09 Keli Lyn Jewel Person events, yeah. 00:31:10 Keli Lyn Jewel Well, it's going to be getting on stages for some people. 00:31:14 Keli Lyn Jewel You know, Pinterest might be the platform of their dreams or whatever. Linkedin's great for some people, not for everybody. 00:31:22 Keli Lyn Jewel You know, so determining who your ideal client is, where they are, and then like forming your messaging around how to make sure that you are speaking their language to them in their own space that's so useful. And often times people think, Oh well, everybody on TikTok, I gotta go over to TikTok. 00:31:41 Keli Lyn Jewel Do you? I don't know. 00:31:43 Keli Lyn Jewel Maybe you do, maybe you don't. Yeah. Give it a try. Yeah. 00:31:48 Keli Lyn Jewel Business people go to LinkedIn. I don't know. OK, what kind of business? 00:31:52 Keli Lyn Jewel Ohh are you trying to get business people like? 00:31:55 Regan Bashara What's going on there, you know? Yeah. 00:31:57 Keli Lyn Jewel So yeah, there there's things to to consider that when somebody starts a business or launches a new product or service. 00:31:58 Ah. 00:32:08 Keli Lyn Jewel They don't necessarily think about and they just kind of do the things that quote UN quote. Everybody else is doing, but may or may not apply. Yeah, I think something you've said, too is, like you can do whatever the **** you want and it will work. 00:32:23 Regan Bashara But you gotta like. 00:32:24 Regan Bashara Put in the work and not just try something if you want to go over on. 00:32:29 Regan Bashara TikTok, you. 00:32:30 Regan Bashara Got to be posting like every I have been posting daily on TikTok since like June of last year and yeah it's worked for me but it didn't start working until like. 00:32:37 Hmm. 00:32:43 Regan Bashara Two months in, and then I was getting. 00:32:45 Regan Bashara A few little. 00:32:46 Regan Bashara Nuggets of people and like that is how it's going to be for anything that you pick. So just know that it doesn't matter what you ******* pick, but like you gotta stick with it and put it in the work and work it and. 00:32:58 Regan Bashara Like. 00:32:59 Regan Bashara Have a smart message have a smart like template or have have a plan but like. 00:33:07 Regan Bashara It doesn't matter what you pick, just do it though. But like, stick with it and know that it takes time for it to show up for just for you to see results, it's important. 00:33:14 Keli Lyn Jewel Yeah. 00:33:16 Keli Lyn Jewel Yeah, it takes. People always think they're giving it enough time and that they're doing it enough. But one of the things, God, one of the first business coaches I ever worked with. 00:33:27 Keli Lyn Jewel Who wanted to punch her? I said. I felt like I was working all. 00:33:32 Keli Lyn Jewel The time and. 00:33:33 Keli Lyn Jewel She said. Are you working all the time or are you thinking about work all the time? And I was immediately like **** you button work? 00:33:41 Regan Bashara Etched thieves hands immediately. 00:33:44 Keli Lyn Jewel But in reality, like you do the thing and you have to do the thing consistently over time and consistently does not mean constantly but consistently over time. And I know we've talked about this, but the timelines that I like to offer are like use something for three months. 00:34:03 Keli Lyn Jewel Before you even allow yourself to form an opinion, I'm just going to do this thing we're going to do it this way. I'm going to keep doing it this way for three months and at the three month mark, look and see what's happened. Collect some data to make some decisions about how to tweak how. 00:34:17 Keli Lyn Jewel To. 00:34:17 Keli Lyn Jewel Shift how to maybe it sucks altogether and you quit? Unlikely. 00:34:23 Keli Lyn Jewel But at six months, then, you'll start to see some stuff come to fruition. It's not until about a year of doing that same thing consistently that you really start to see some results and a lot of people get mad about that. And a lot of people. 00:34:40 Keli Lyn Jewel Don't want to do it and you know, it's just like, well, that's kind of the entrepreneurial game, just kind of you gotta. 00:34:46 Regan Bashara Yeah. 00:34:47 Keli Lyn Jewel Get the time. 00:34:49 Keli Lyn Jewel And if you're. 00:34:50 Keli Lyn Jewel Not willing to. 00:34:50 Regan Bashara Lucy. 00:34:52 Regan Bashara My dog, I don't know if you can hear. 00:34:53 Regan Bashara On the recording but. 00:34:54 Regan Bashara My dog is barking. She's like. 00:34:55 Regan Bashara Yes, girl. Yes. 00:35:00 Regan Bashara She is like cheering on this conversation. OK, so this episode is coming out March 15th, 2024. I just want to talk about the three month thing because this has just occurred to me as. 00:35:10 Regan Bashara A way to. 00:35:10 Regan Bashara Frame it because our our ******* attention spans are so short and we all have amnesia. I'm so sorry. 00:35:16 Regan Bashara But. 00:35:17 Regan Bashara March 15th, 2024 this episode. 00:35:20 Regan Bashara Three months ago was before Christmas. 00:35:24 Keli Lyn Jewel Yeah, yeah. 00:35:26 Keli Lyn Jewel Sure was. 00:35:26 Regan Bashara If you put it like that, people are. 00:35:28 Regan Bashara Gonna be like. 00:35:28 Regan Bashara Ohh like that is how long you need to ******* do something and like. 00:35:30 Keli Lyn Jewel Ah. 00:35:35 Regan Bashara Doing something is wallpapering the Internet. 00:35:38 Keli Lyn Jewel Wallpaper bring the Internet exactly. 00:35:39 Regan Bashara Not a video. A week of video every day for three months. That's. 00:35:46 Regan Bashara And. 00:35:47 Regan Bashara Blah blah blah. We could talk about ******* batching content and all that ****. It's not you showing up every single day to post a video. That's not what I'm. 00:35:54 Regan Bashara Saying. 00:35:54 Keli Lyn Jewel Right. 00:35:55 Regan Bashara The amount of times that you. 00:35:59 Regan Bashara Ask make an offer. Put your stuff out there to sell. Make a marketing post needs to end up being daily between before Christmas, and that's what we're talking about in terms of like consistency and. 00:36:13 Regan Bashara How much you gotta put in? And like bend weight on it? 00:36:18 Keli Lyn Jewel And three month Mark does not mean now I'm a millionaire. Mark means now I've I've collected and I get to make some decisions. About what? About this? Yes. 00:36:24 What do you mean? 00:36:32 Regan Bashara It's. 00:36:33 Regan Bashara All of science experiment. We're gathering data. That's it. So if you're not willing to kind of, like, do that, put that amount of **** out there, make those offers and then be OK with the result of nobody ******* clicked. 00:36:51 Regan Bashara You got to be OK with that because you still got valuable data in the. 00:36:53 Regan Bashara Meantime. 00:36:55 Regan Bashara You gotta be OK with like that? Yeah. I don't know. It's like. 00:37:01 Regan Bashara That is so frustrating. Like, I feel like the frustration come up, but it's not something that I live in, right? 00:37:05 Regan Bashara Now but like last. 00:37:07 Regan Bashara Year when I first when you rudely told me I was so ******* frustrated, I was like, what do you mean no, what it's gonna buy? Yeah. Why am I doing this? 00:37:21 Regan Bashara Yes, friend, it is OK that is to be expected the. 00:37:28 Regan Bashara Rare case that you ******* blow up for some reason and have an influx of people buying is the exception to the rules so. 00:37:36 Keli Lyn Jewel Ohh yeah yeah. 00:37:39 Keli Lyn Jewel But This is why the statistics remain. The small businesses fail within the first five years. It's not because. 00:37:43 Regan Bashara Yeah, M. 00:37:46 Keli Lyn Jewel Is they're terrible. It's not because the offer doesn't have value. It's because you have to be willing to put in the first year of your business doing nothing but collecting data. Yeah, that doesn't mean that there won't be sales. There may absolutely be sales. 00:38:07 Keli Lyn Jewel You have to be willing for that first year. 00:38:11 Keli Lyn Jewel Not have any sales in just the data collection so that you can see what is working strengthen that. 00:38:18 Keli Lyn Jewel What isn't working and why, without weaponizing that against yourself? 00:38:22 Regan Bashara MM. 00:38:24 Keli Lyn Jewel And then decide how to move forward with all of that data. 00:38:28 Keli Lyn Jewel And. 00:38:30 Keli Lyn Jewel You know, it's just that same process. 00:38:33 Keli Lyn Jewel Over and over and over and over. And. 00:38:35 Regan Bashara Over again, welcome to business owners. 00:38:40 Keli Lyn Jewel Right, right. I gotta cross my arms. 00:38:41 Regan Bashara I'm just. 00:38:43 Regan Bashara And like how? 00:38:44 Keli Lyn Jewel Yeah. 00:38:45 Regan Bashara Do you mean I'm not on my private jet with Taylor Swift? 00:38:54 Keli Lyn Jewel Oh my God. 00:38:56 Keli Lyn Jewel Have you ever sent me a message and it says you're on your private jet with Taylor Swift? That is how I will go. You are not OK. We need to send a search party. Whatever. Alright for help anyway. Yeah. I'm so sorry. 00:39:11 Regan Bashara If that's frustrating for anybody to hear, but like truly, I'm there. I'm with you on that. And you know what? 00:39:19 Regan Bashara I am successful based on the definition of success that I set for myself originally because I dealt with that frustration in that reality and then accepted it and kept ******* going. Sorry. And sometimes what that looks like is. 00:39:39 Keli Lyn Jewel Staying with a full time job while you're building your business as a side hustle for a bit, sometimes what that looks like is ohh I had some I had some stuff that was working. I came out of the gates and people were like oh ****, that's cool. And I had a lot of people buy and then it was crickets for a little while now I need some time to adjust, so I'm going to. 00:39:45 Regan Bashara Mm-hmm. 00:39:59 Keli Lyn Jewel Go get a part time job for a hot 2nd. 00:40:02 Keli Lyn Jewel In order to take the financial pressure off of my business. 00:40:05 Keli Lyn Jewel It can look like so many different things, but. 00:40:10 Keli Lyn Jewel It takes time. It takes time and again more time than what people want to give it, especially with our little goldfish brains now and. 00:40:22 Keli Lyn Jewel And I know that sucks, and also entrepreneurship isn't for everybody. And that's also OK. 00:40:27 Regan Bashara Period. 00:40:29 Regan Bashara Today, dropping the ******* truths on everybody. 00:40:33 Regan Bashara I'll apologize again. 00:40:36 Regan Bashara Some of you are triggered. So sorry, but that's why you come to me. Is that like I'm gonna ******* tell you? What **** is? So with all of that being said. 00:40:51 Regan Bashara Apparently I have not been clear in the last couple of ******* times. I've interviewed people because Jamira was like I thought we were gonna. And I'm like, ohh. And you're like, oh, I did, Rose. We were talking about Selling U today. Surprise. No. 00:41:06 Regan Bashara No, I wanted to bring you on specifically in March because I know you're closing the doors for Selling U and I want my people to know that like they need to work with you, period. And so. But you also had something that you wanted to offer as like a bonus. So please tell us about all the things and where we can do all that. 00:41:24 Keli Lyn Jewel Yeah, totally. So if you want a consult for Selling U, that's very, very simple. You just fill out a form and it, I call it an application for a consult. The purpose of that is so that I can walk into the consult knowing a little bit about your business. So the application form tells me some information. 00:41:42 Keli Lyn Jewel And it's really basic. 00:41:44 Keli Lyn Jewel And that's in all of my social links. It's everywhere. I'm sure probably be in the show notes, but the curriculum for Selling U starts on March 27th, which is a Wednesday, and that's that applies for both the community and the mastermind. 00:41:51 Mm-hmm. 00:42:05 Keli Lyn Jewel Levels. So on that day is when the doors closed, like once the curriculum is up, we're not letting new people in because I don't want anybody to. 00:42:13 Keli Lyn Jewel Feel behind or whatever. So that's when the curriculum starts. 00:42:20 Keli Lyn Jewel The curriculum is available for both the community and the master mind levels. Everything that's available in the community is available to the mastermind and the mastermind. We just take it a hell of a lot deeper and you get basically 24/7 access to me for all your questions. All your comments, all your concerns, all your memes. 00:42:38 Regan Bashara I will send you so many memes. If you join the mastermind. If nothing else, you can join for the memes and then. 00:42:46 Regan Bashara Ana’s 15 minute long voice memos. 00:42:49 Keli Lyn Jewel Yeah. Yeah, exactly. Ohh so. 00:42:53 Keli Lyn Jewel There is that stuff. The bonus is for your people. Last year, the Selling U community did what we called a biz in a box day long summit was a one day virtual summit. That was. 00:42:57 OK. 00:43:09 Keli Lyn Jewel Some of our top entrepreneurial brains within the community coming together to offer workshops within their specialty. So the two people you mentioned earlier, Sarah and Jamira, they each did a marketing workshop, Sarah, from the analytical perspective. 00:43:30 Keli Lyn Jewel And jamira from the human design perspective, we had another Sarah talking about time as a CEO and an executive running a company running a business. 00:43:45 Keli Lyn Jewel We had Della talking about copywriting. You were talking about bookkeeping, you know, just like I don't even remember how many. How many were. 00:43:55 Regan Bashara Yeah, Liz and Joanne did stuff, too. Really good stuff. Yeah. 00:43:59 Wow. 00:44:01 Keli Lyn Jewel That's right. 00:44:02 Keli Lyn Jewel Yeah, it was an entire day. Just jam packed full of stuff and so everybody who joins my the gap. 00:44:10 Keli Lyn Jewel I'm going to give them access to the to the replays for all of that so that they can have access to all of this phenomenal content that's sitting. 00:44:19 Keli Lyn Jewel In Google Drive right now, you should be used. 00:44:24 Keli Lyn Jewel Be used? 00:44:24 Regan Bashara Such good stuff. And yeah, I taught a class about, like, business numbers and all of that. And so when you enroll in mind the gap, you're getting a bonus from me right now for a limited time. There's a. 00:44:39 Regan Bashara VIP virtual strategy call is the phrasing that I'm using. It's an hour of me and my attention on you and your business or whatever that is whatever you want to do. And when you join mine, the gap and enroll. 00:44:55 Regan Bashara And into Selling U. Is that what you're saying? No, no. OK, sorry. 00:45:00 Keli Lyn Jewel It's giving some people that your business to grow as well. I am invested in your business. Thank you. I'm giving your full access to the all the. 00:45:13 Keli Lyn Jewel Replays for that. 00:45:14 Regan Bashara OK, perfect. So enroll them in mind the gap get your bonus via IP strategy call with me and Keli will also provide access to the replace. It was like 8 hour long classes on like. 00:45:27 Yes. 00:45:28 Regan Bashara Biz in a box. Like if you are starting a business, you've already started your business. 00:45:31 Regan Bashara And you're like. 00:45:32 Keli Lyn Jewel Holy. 00:45:34 Regan Bashara You need to watch all of these replays from brilliant folks who can help you get **** under control. So that's the bonus. Thank you so much for offering that. And also my people go get into ******* Selling U like. 00:45:49 Regan Bashara That's what I wanted to talk about. 00:45:51 Regan Bashara Yeah, let's go get in here. 00:45:53 Regan Bashara My, my, my muse, my intuition, whatever is like. 00:45:56 Regan Bashara Just come on. We got we got. 00:45:57 Regan Bashara **** to do. Get in here. 00:45:59 Keli Lyn Jewel Yeah. 00:46:02 Regan Bashara That's the vibe. Thanks so much for being officially a guest on money.
